Apple Tasting Festival

An Autumn goal accomplished!

There's a nursery right next to where I live and every year they have an apple tasting festival. I didn't find time to attend last year, but did notice all the parking commotion and hoards of people walking to the nursery, so I decided to go this year. So Emily and I tromped down to the nursery, dodging children and wagons full of apples.

We waited in line for a half hour to get into the apple tasting tent. There were very strict rules on how to take the apple pieces (toothpick, fingers, then mouth), but as you can see in the photo below, they were not followed very well by the children. There were so many varieties of apple to taste - some of them were horrible! One especially was made of mush. There were some really good ones as well, but by the end I was quite tired of apples.

We decided to pass on buying any apples simply for the fact that we wouldn't be able to eat a whole pound of apples. There were so many people leaving with bags and bags, I wonder if they had plans for them - hopefully they weren't all doomed to rot on counters. We couldn't pass up some of the treats, so Emily got a caramel apple and I went for an apple crisp with cream.

Even though I didn't have any apple cider, I'm still considering this autumn goal accomplished. Which should I tackle next?
